POLAR BEAR | PRINT
Be transported into the world of the Polar Bear. Katherine used metallic watercolor inks to help create the glow of this painting and to help reflect the magic found on the ice. You can now have a print of your own. When you purchase this print a percentage of the sale will help protect the Polar Bear and bring further attention to its warming habitat.
Polar bears are large, and can grow between 6 - 9 feet and weight between 800 - 1,300 pounds. When swimming they can sustain a pace of six miles per hour, which is quite fast for such a large animal! They need a large amount of fat to survive and spend 50% of their time hunting for food (lots of seals). There are 19 sub - populations of polar bears that are either threatened or vulnerable. The loss of their habitat, and hunting grounds (sea ice) due to climate change, and access to food, are their greatest threats.
