Rainbow Mountain and Alpaca, Peru 

Also known as Vinicunca, which translates to “colored mountain,” stands at 17,060 feet above sea level and was once covered completely by a blanket of white snow just a decade ago.

Due to climate change, it now displays 14 different colorful minerals, including lavender, turquoise, and gold. This part of the Andean mountain range are inhabited by llama and alpaca herding communities and constitutes of one of the few remaining nomadic groups in the world that travel with herds of domesticated animals.

This mountain is considered sacred by local communities, so please be very respectful when visiting wild places such as this one.
