Not only is Katherine Homes designing with the environment in mind, but she is also a singer-songwriter and plays the guitar. With her previous band, Boxcar Daisies (2009/2010), she opened for notable acts such as Nathaniel Rateliff, Trampled by Turtles, Joe Pug, and Emmitt-Nershi Band.
After disappearing from the music scene for nearly 8 years to focus on environmental nonprofit work Katherine released her new solo album, "Speak", on September 10th, 2016.
Katherine hopes that one day her music will inspire her audience to connect with nature, treat others with kindness, and tread more lightly on the Earth.

"Katherine Homes could have released the eight songs on Speak with just her and a guitar. She doesn’t need bells and whistles to make the tracks any prettier. But with the accompaniment of a handful of well-known Colorado musicians, producer Jamie Mefford (Nathaniel Rateliff/Gregory Alan Isakov) makes the tracks on Speak come to life with tasteful, elegant arrangements that highlight the simple beauty, without over powering them — particularly on the poignant “Put Down Your Gun.”

"The album has a unique quality of sounding like the instrumentation was laid down in a cozy but resonant space, while Homes’ flawless soprano wafts above it all as if from the floor of a vast Colorado canyon."
